The suspect involved in a Huntsville Police use-of-force case has hired civil rights attorneys to represent him.
National civil rights attorney Harry Daniels, as well as attorneys Roderick Van Daniel and Gerald Griggs, have been hired by Lundon Harkey, 37, who was apprehended by a Huntsville Police officer last week.
The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver, identified as Harkey, a Black man, attempted to flee, HPD said.
“Lundon Harkey was subdued and defenseless but that didn’t stop this officer from repeatedly slamming his head into the pavement.
That didn’t stop him from clubbing him with a flashlight and that didn’t stop his fellow officers from spraying him with pepper spray and covering his face so it burned and smothered him.
