Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the arrest of Alexander McKinnie and Kara Morrison this week for allegedly defrauding tens of thousands of dollars through Florida's Medicaid program.
“Medicaid fraud is a clear example of theft from taxpayers,” Uthmeier said in a release.
The Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit led the investigation into the pair.
McKinnie has been charged with one count of Medicaid Provider Fraud over $50,000 and one count of Organized Scheme to Defraud, which are both first-degree felonies.
