McDermott has some connections to the Buccaneers, as he worked with team general manager Jason Licht in Philadelphia in the early 2000s. Tampa Bay fired offensive coordinator Josh Girzzard and hired Zac Robinson from the Atlanta Falcons. They elevated offensive coordinator Joe Brady to become head coach.
