The following is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:In December 2025, Vincent Charles McKenney, 36, of Humboldt County was reported missing to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. After an extensive investigation, evidence was uncovered regarding McKenney being murdered in a remote location of Humboldt County. Investigators followed up on leads and the possible location of McKenney, which was determined to be an Eastern Humboldt County abandoned cannabis grow site. On 01/29/2026, Christopher James Diven, 38, of Willow Creek, was arrested for the murder of Vincent McKenney. The family of Vincent McKenney has been notified of his death, and our heartfelt thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
