The Las Cruces Police Department will hold a news conference at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, at Young Park, 850 Walnut Ave., to announce the official launch of the City of Las Cruces’ Park Ranger Program. In November, LCPD graduated four cadets from its Park Ranger Academy. The graduates, Jacob Arman, Crystal Holguin, Joab Lara and Brian Perez, completed a field training program alongside experienced officers before assuming full duties in city parks. The Park Ranger position was created to address ongoing concerns related to park safety and quality-of-life issues. The launch of the Park Ranger Program marks a significant milestone for the City of Las Cruces and reflects a proactive approach to public safety, community engagement and park stewardship.
