Councillor says education cuts are 'not being considered' for Fife budget

Labour councillor Cara Hilton said that the amount delivered will actually go up.
She said: "I just wanted to confirm that there will be no education savings under consideration for the 2026-27 council education budget.
Spokesperson Graeme Keir said: “Schools have suffered over a decade of austerity, and they simply cannot stand more cuts.
Mr Keir commented: “Councillors from most of the major parties promised last year, at a public meeting, not to cut the education budget.
The arguments that parents and teachers made last year are still true, we need staff and resources to meet the needs of families and children.
