The National Rental Assistance Scheme, introduced in 2023, was designed to help workers pay rent upfront and repay the amount gradually through affordable instalments.
To address these challenges, the former government provided GH¢30 million in seed funding for the scheme, which was launched under the supervision of the then Minister for Works and Housing, Mr Francis Asenso-Boakye.
Three years after its introduction, the initiative has been described as a success by the current Minister for Housing, Mr Kenneth Gilbert Adjei.
The scheme has, however, recorded significant success, with the Housing Minister revealing that in 2025 alone, 2,031 individuals benefited from it.
Others also commended the Minister for Housing for retaining the policy and acknowledging its effectiveness.
