A Longmont man and his young son were hit by a vehicle and injured while crossing South Main Street late Thursday afternoon. About 4:14 p.m., Longmont police received a report of a crash involving two pedestrians, according to Rogelio Mares, a Longmont police spokesperson. The Longmont man, holding his toddler, was headed east in the crosswalk when a Longmont man driving a black SUV westbound on Quail Road made a left turn onto South Main and struck the two. The man suffered “possibly serious, but non-life-threatening” injuries, and the toddler’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Mares said. The driver remained on scene, and police do not believe the man was speeding or under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to Mares.
