‌Mr Rowland, from Islington, had been at a restaurant in East Ham when he and the victim, Fergany Mvuezolo, 35, were involved in an argument. He was seen on CCTV and witnesses running it into Mr Mvuezolo. ‌Police were called to the scene at 5:20am on Sunday, March 2024 where they found Mr Mvuezolo. As officers searched Rowland, they found a receipt from the Barking road restaurant that linked him to the murder of Mr Mvuezolo. He then repeated the lie in an interview with police - only to be identified by the two security guards as the man who hit them.
