A fresh western disturbance has begun influencing weather conditions across northern India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing multiple alerts for rainfall, snowfall, fog, frost and cold wave conditions on Friday, January 30.
Meanwhile, ground frost conditions are likely to prevail over Uttarakhand today, January 30, posing risks to crops and early morning travel.
Dense fog and cold wave warnings issuedThe IMD has warned of dense to very dense fog conditions during morning and night hours today over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh.
Dense fog is also likely in isolated pockets over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh.
Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh today and tomorrow, with residents advised to take precautions against exposure to extreme cold.
