Nagaland: HPV vaccination training held in Mon

The training marked an important milestone in preparing frontline health workers for the effective rollout of the HPV vaccination programme under the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP).
According to a press release, district programme officer (RCH & UIP), Dr. Wungyong, in his address, welcomed the participants and highlighted the critical role of HPV vaccination in preventing cervical cancer.
Detailed sessions were conducted on cervical cancer and its link with HPV, global progress in HPV vaccination, and comprehensive vaccine-related information, including schedule, safety and efficacy.
During the programme, participants were trained on operational planning for HPV vaccination, including the use of the eVIN+ HPV vaccine module of U-WIN to ensure efficient vaccine logistics and real-time monitoring.
To facilitate smooth field-level implementation, sessions were held on preparedness assessment for HPV vaccination campaigns, session site management, and the roles and responsibilities of health workers, stakeholders and caregivers.
