The third phase of training for Civil Defence Wardens and Volunteers of Dimapur district commenced on January 28 at the Office of the East Dimapur Town Council. The programme is being organised by the Home Guards, Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and will conclude on February 4. In his opening remarks, district commandant, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, Dimapur, M. Yingnyei Konyak, highlighted the significance of Civil Defence as a people-centric and non-privileged organisation aimed at strengthening community preparedness and resilience. He said Civil Defence goes beyond emergency response and is rooted in readiness, responsibility and collective action during crises. Wardens and volunteers from East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) Wards 1 to 11 and Samaguri Village are participating in the training.
