More than 100 Latino creatives have signed an open letter to Hollywood after widespread controversy broke out over Odessa A’zion’s casting in the A24 adaptation “Deep Cuts” as the character Zoe Gutierrez.
Among those signing the letter are Eva Longoria, John Leguizamo, Xochitl Gomez, Danny Ramirez, Gina Rodriguez, Gloria Calderon Kellett and Jessica Alba.
Recent casting decisions around the character Zoe Gutierrez in A 24’s Deep Cuts have exposed a troubling pattern.
We are calling for accountability, intentionality, and equity in casting and storytelling.
