NBC has ordered two pilots: a rom-com called “Newlyweds” and an untitled comedy about therapists-slash-best friends played by Jane Lynch and Katey Sagal.
“Newlyweds” is written by Gail Lerner, who executive produces alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Scott Schwartz.
Executive producers include Lizer, Lynch, Sagal and Trip the Light Productions’ Krista Vernoff, Andrew Stearn and Alexandre Schmitt.
Lizer is best known as the creator of “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” which ran on CBS for five seasons from 2006 to 2010.
She was also a writer and producer on Seasons 3 through 6 of “Will & Grace,” which she also acted in for five episodes among various other acting credits.
