James L. Taylor, age 76, of Douglas, GA, passed away peacefully at Memorial Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL, on Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was born on June 30, 1949, the son of Mr. Leon Caris Taylor and Mrs. Doris Taylor. Mr. Taylor leaves behind his beloved wife Mrs. JoAnn Taylor, his son Jeffery and Heather Taylor, and their children Bentley and Ethan Taylor, his son Stacy and Brooke Taylor and their children Hunter Taylor, Shawn Taylor, Shanlee and Dakota Corbitt, and their children Cane and Natalee, Jay and Leslie Taylor and their daughter Rayne, his son Joey Taylor, his Daughter Sherry and Husband Mark Taylor and their son Jasper, and his daughter Rachel Vaughn, his mother Mrs. Doris Taylor, along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Active pallbearers will include: Stacy Taylor, Shawn Taylor, Rick Tucker, Dakota Corbitt, Stacy Corbitt, and Hunter Taylor.
