The Opposition has announced plans to introduce legislation that would stop public servants from getting leave pay while standing for the elections. The Shadow Minister for Education and Information, Mr Raphael Doa (Western Highlands), said public servants contesting the elections must not be given leave pay. A spokesman for MrDoa said the Public Service Association supported the proposed Public Service (Candidates for Elections) bill. The Public Service Association cannot agree with the Bill proposed by the Opposition. “Lemeki might have differences with the Prime Minister, but this should not mean selling us down the drain,” he said.
