PNG Power Management has notified the general public and valued customers that the Ramu Grid is currently experiencing a sudden total system outage.
The collapse has disconnected power across the Highlands, Madang, and Lae regions.
Restoration efforts are now in progress, with technical teams focused on recovering supply from the Ramu Hydropower Station.
For the Lae area, teams are working to restore electricity via the Munum supply.
