The two openings add to a growing list of licensed operators preparing to serve patients as Kentucky’s medical marijuana program transitions from licensing and inspections into active retail access. Seven dispensaries are either already open or preparing to open soon, while nine additional licensees are currently undergoing inspections as part of the state’s regulatory process. The governor said more than 18,000 Kentuckians have already been approved for medical marijuana cards. Kentucky’s medical marijuana law allows patients with qualifying conditions to receive a written certification from a registered practitioner, which can then be used to apply for a state-issued card. As additional dispensaries pass inspection and open, and more cultivators begin supplying the market, access for registered patients is expected to continue expanding throughout the early months of 2026.
