The current deficit is 2.3 million Euros and rising.
From the local newspaper:The occupancy rate of the Leipzig Opera — which includes the divisions Opera, Ballet, and Operetta/Musical (Musical Comedy) — remained significantly below expectations last year, particularly in the second and third quarters, at 64 percent and 51 percent respectively.
Ticket prices at the Opera House on Augustusplatz generally range between 18 and 88 euros, in some cases exceeding 100 euros.
Nevertheless, forecasts look bleak: the deficits rise to three million euros next year, then to 3.3 million euros and 2.9 million euros in 2028.
