By ABIGAIL JABLONThe AstorianLast week, the U.S. Senate passed a spending bill that secured $1.03 million for Clatsop County to improve emergency response infrastructure. “This funding reflects the strong partnership between Clatsop County and our federal delegation,” said Kujala. “The communities identified top projects — like this essential upgrade for 911 systems in Clatsop County — and we fought for them. … We secured funding for important homegrown projects that will benefit Oregonians in every corner of the state for years to come.”Senator Wyden’s office issued a statement about the passing of the bill on Thursday. Next steps include finding additional funding to supplement federal dollars and a Feb. 18 work meeting where County Manager Don Bohn and Sheriff Matt Phillips will discuss appropriations.
