The worldwide Eurofighter Typhoon fleet has now surpassed one million flight hours, Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH, which co-ordinates the programme on the industrial side, announced on 29 January 2026. The milestone additionally means that the aircraft’s powerplant, the EJ200, has achieved two million engine flight hours, given that two EJ200s power each Typhoon aircraft. “Reaching one million flying hours is a powerful testament to the Eurofighter’s performance and reliability,” added Simon Ellard, general manager of the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA). For the four Eurofighter core nations – Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom – around 80% of their operational air missions are flown by Typhoon jets. The total number of Eurofighters ordered currently stands at 769.
