Carlos Alcaraz qualifies for the semi-finals of the men’s Australian Open, the first Slam of the season taking place on the hard courts of Melbourne Park.
The Spanish champion, number 1 in the world ranking and on the scoreboard, prevailed in the quarterfinals over the Australian Alex de Minaur, sixth seeded player, with a score of 7-5 6-2 6-1, gained in two hours and 18 minutes of play.
For a place in the final Alcaraz will face the German Alexander Zverev, third favorite of the tournament.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the other two quarters with two Italians on the court: Jannik Sinner (2) against the American Ben Shelton (8) and Lorenzo Musetti (5) against the Serbian Novak Djokovic (4).
