I do not know the circumstances of these accidents, but I do ask why society accepts so readily, the toll of injury and death on our roads. The government collects data “designed to focus on recording factors related to areas where action can be taken”. Most of the political parties, apart from the Greens, clearly either consider the death toll as a price worth paying or just do not want to think about it. The Reform Party and the Conservative Party actively criticise the Welsh Government’s attempts to reduce excessive speed - the overwhelming cause of serious road accidents. A price worth paying?
