The portions of the buildings scarred from where the Pike Plan was attached were covered with a form of plastic wrapping used on homes underneath roofing and siding. Across the street, the demolition work had made significant strides with the canopy entirely removed from the green building, which houses Stella’s Italian Restaurant. Mayor Steve Noble did not immediately respond to a request for an update on the demolition project on Thursday. A total of six lawsuits have been filed by William Gottlieb Real Estate-owned properties against the city over the Pike Plan. That means if the project stays on schedule, the Pike Plan, dedicated in April 1976, will be gone before its 50th anniversary.
