The Phillipsburg Police Department unveiled a new program allowing the public to submit non-emergency complaints to the town and the police department without pulling officers from their regular duties and straining the department’s resources. Officers introduced the self-reporting software to the public Jan. 28 during a session at the Phillipsburg Free Public Library. While the program was available on the police department’s website for at least 10 years, it had gone unused until recently, officers said. Residents can use the system to report suspected thefts, submit insurance claims, and file inquiries about town inspections. All police departments in Warren County have access to the self-reporting system, but Phillipsburg is among the first to implement it, officers said.
