The A259 Brighton Road was closed both ways earlier today after the car fire between Penhill Road and Old Salts Farm Road in Lancing. The vehicle seems to be a classic Daimler, royal-chartered British luxury cars produced from 1897 to the early 2000s. A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 10.52am to a small vehicle fire in Brighton Road, Lancing. “Upon arrival the crew found a car on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a high pressure hose reel.
