A man shot and killed by troopers Wednesday morning in his Lebanon County home had a kitchen knife in his hand and an open Bible nearby, his parents said. They didn’t want their names published but told PennLive their son was in his kitchen, holding a knife when troopers shot him. A search warrant application filed by state police and signed by a judge Tuesday to search McDowell’s home showed the evidence that lead police to McDowell’s home. According to the warrant, McDowell sent photos of children’s genitals in the chatroom and discussed having sexual contact with minors. On Wednesday, at least two troopers went to the home to seize McDowell’s electronic devices and search for child pornography and other evidence.
