['Yucatan Times']
The Yucatan Times
To strengthen regulatory frameworks and listen to and consider the needs of the business sector and the technology community in Yucatán, the Dialogue Tables for the 2026 Radio Spectrum Auction Plan were held, focusing on 5G service, industrial connectivity, and microwave coverage.
In this regard, Pérez López emphasized that the State Government aims for a more connected Yucatán, with high-quality broadband services and, above all, with industrial development that applies and leverages the connectivity and technology infrastructure.
Spectrum auctions are government-led, market-based processes for selling exclusive licenses to use specific radio frequency bands, allowing mobile network operators (MNOs) to build and expand, for example, 5G networks.
Finally, the state official expressed her gratitude that Yucatán was chosen to host this meeting and conveyed her willingness to maintain coordination with the federal government.
For her part, Marisol Nava León, Director of Spectrum Auctions, noted that these dialogue sessions promote a new way of developing regulations, public policies, and initiatives aimed at improving conditions in the sector.
