The Lewiston-based, Somali-operated Global Home Care has continued to rake in millions in MaineCare benefits despite overbilling the taxpayer-funded program by nearly $100,000. In addition to the millions in Medicaid funding, Dees’ business also received a fully forgiven $90,000 COVID-era PPP loan. Strangely, PPP loan records from ProPublica place Global Home Care in the “specialized freight” rather than the healthcare industry. It is not clear what the ultimate result of that investigation was, but Global Home Care was able to continue operations. Business records from OpenCorporates show that Global Home Care was not Dees’ only Maine business venture.
