Filipino national suspected of climbing drainpipe to enter Shinjuku apartment for burglarlyTOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a man for breaking into an apartment in Shinjuku Ward in December and stealing approximately 3 million yen in cash and other items, reports Nippon News Network (Jan. 29).
To gain access, JonBenet Ayuste de la Pena, 28, used a drainpipe affixed to the exterior wall of the building to climb up to the third floor.
According to police, de la Pena stole approximately 3 million yen in cash, a luxury watch — valued at 2.4 million yen — and other items.
