Gqeberha police are investigating the kidnapping of a foreign national on Thursday in the vicinity of Missionvale. Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says the victim was travelling on the R75, accompanied by private security, when they were boxed in by two cars. She said approximately eight suspects, armed with rifles, exited the vehicles and forced the man into one of their vehicles before fleeing. Janse Van Rensburg said a shot was fired during the incident which grazed one of the private security guards. “Information may be provided anonymously,” Janse Van Rensburg said.
