The wolf designated OR129 was captured on this remote camera on Forest Service lands in Wasco County in December 2023. The wolves are from the Black Pines pack, said Brian Ratliff, district wildlife biologist at the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Baker City office. The wolf killed on Wednesday was caught in a trap near the site of a recent attack on a calf, Ratliff said. That litter included at least five pups, one of which is the wolf killed on Wednesday. One of those was the wolf killed Wednesday, so only one wolf in the pack has a tracking collar.
