Staff reportSALISBURY — Catawba’s men’s basketball team got huge games from Carson Daniel and Jordan Simpson and beat Lenoir-Rhyne 87-78 at Goodman Arena on Wednesday. The Bears (16-5, 10-3) shot a little better from the floor than the Indians, but only made three 3-pointers. Carson Daniel scored 24 with four 3s, a breakout game for the sophomore from Central Cabarrus as far as scoring and deep shooting. He made five 3s and scored 24.
