The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA from Swat, Dr Amjad Ali, in connection with an assets beyond means case. According to an official notice issued by the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad, Dr Amjad Ali has been directed to appear before the commission on February 3, 2026, at 10:00 am. The petition seeks Dr Amjad Ali’s disqualification over alleged differences between his declared assets and known sources of income. The ECP has instructed the PTI lawmaker to appear in person or through legal counsel at its Islamabad office. The development has sparked political debate, as Dr Amjad Ali has previously spoken publicly in the provincial assembly against corruption and in favor of transparent governance.
