Husband, Wife Charged in Ksh22 Million National Oil Fraud

A man and his wife have been arraigned in court over their alleged involvement in a fraudulent scheme which resulted in the misappropriation of Ksh22 million from a state-owned corporation.
This followed a complaint by the corporation about the theft and misappropriation of substantial funds.
“The husband and wife, along with a third accomplice, were arraigned for their alleged involvement in a scheme that led to the misappropriation of Ksh22,151,983 from the National Oil Corporation of Kenya.
Their arrest followed a formal complaint by the corporation regarding the theft and misappropriation of substantial public funds,” the DCI stated.
Authorities have emphasised that the case showed the Investigations Bureau’s commitment to fighting corruption, enforcing accountability, and safeguarding public resources.
