Now that the 2026 college football transfer portal has officially come and gone, I want to say that I am not a fan of the portal. So, lets begin by considering a few facts:Numbers like this matter because it shows how crowded the transfer portal can be. You didn’t play at your last school, so you transferred for another opportunity, but didn’t see the field there either. I won’t name anyone, but there’s roughly 15 of the 30 players entering the portal from Eastern that didn’t play much. Players enter the portal expecting opportunities that may never come, only to find programs prioritizing proven talent.
