The 18-carat gold ring, carved in rock crystal, is even older than the martyred Saint Valentine himself, dating back to the 2nd Century AD, and is estimated to fetch up to £3,000. The oldest ring in the sale dates back 3,300 years to Ancient Egypt, but has a 'surprisingly modern' feel.
