PMAY-U: J&K Gets Over 14K Urban Homes In 3 Years

The information was provided by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in a written reply to an unstarred question in the Lok Sabha.
ADVERTISEMENTThe ministry clarified that PMAY-U and its revamped version, PMAY-U 2.0, are demand-driven schemes without fixed targets.
Launched in 2015, PMAY-U aims to provide all-weather pucca houses with basic civic amenities to eligible urban beneficiaries, mainly from the Economically Weaker Section and Lower Income Group categories.
In September 2024, the Centre launched PMAY-U 2.0 to extend housing support to one crore additional beneficiaries nationwide over the next five years.
At the national level, more than 122.28 lakh houses have been sanctioned under PMAY-U and PMAY-U 2.0 so far, with over 97 lakh units completed and delivered as of January 22, 2026, the ministry informed Parliament.
