The search for scapegoats in Minneapolis is under way once again, even as White House policy over deportation tactics was beginning to show cracks on several fronts. Eventually, we need to ask what the gain of all this for the White House is. Polling shows Trump is not winning political support for his deportation tactics. If this is about rooting out migrants with criminal backgrounds, it’s a weird way of making the argument.
