The revelation came after we asked Police Scotland for data on crimes recorded at local stores. A request was made for information on 14 stores in the area, including in Cumnock, Auchinleck, Mauchline, Drongan and Ochiltree. This was recorded around the same time as a person was detected for robbery at the same shop. Shoplifting was the most common crime reported, with 59 cases across all the stores. Cumnock's Farmfoods had seven reported crimes, Morrisons Daily had six and the Merlin Garage in Auchinleck had two reported crimes.
