A school in Moray will play a crucial behind-the scenes role in helping the Coastguard respond to lifesaving emergencies. Eight senior students from Gordonstoun are making themselves available around the clock to assist with communications during search and rescue incidents. Gordonstoun School celebrated the opening of its new Coastguard Centre with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ‘Winthrop-Young Gordonstoun Coastguard Centre was officially opened by Princess Anne last year. “The Operational Support Team provides trusted, well-trained support that strengthens our response capability, while allowing professional coastguards to concentrate on activity at the scene.
