Investing.com -- U.S. President Donald Trump once again criticized Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Thursday for keeping interest rates unchanged, arguing the U.S. should have "substantially lower" rates and "the lowest in the world."
In a Truth Social post, Trump called Powell "Too Late" and claimed he is "hurting our Country, and its National Security" by maintaining current interest rate levels.
The comments came one day after the Federal Reserve decided to hold benchmark rates steady.
Trump argued that high interest rates are costing America "Hundreds of Billions of Dollars a year in totally unnecessary and uncalled for INTEREST EXPENSE."
