Operatives of the Edo State Security Corps, ESSC, have arrested one Joshua Philip, who is allegedly specialising in the theft of hotel facilities. Gistmania reports that the Deputy Corps Commandant, Richard Balogun, disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Benin City. Balogun alleged that the suspect, who resides in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, specialised in stealing hotel equipment while checking out after lodging. It was gathered that the suspect, who moves around the country for the criminal act, had allegedly committed the offence at four hotels in Benin City before his arrest. The manager was said to have contacted operatives of the Edo State Security Corps, who were on routine patrol.
