Syracuse, N.Y. -- The strong storm expected to slide up the East Coast this weekend is likely to bypass Upstate New York, new forecasts show.
The storm could bring high winds and “near-blizzard” conditions along the coast from North Carolina to New England, the weather service said.
For Upstate New York, the weekend will be dry but very cold.
Temperatures are expected to plunge below zero Saturday and Sunday mornings, with high temperatures only about 15 degrees.
A warmup of sorts will come early next week, with temperatures expected to reach the mid 20s in Central New York starting Monday.
