The Fulton County facility, which opened in 2023, was created to centralize and streamline election operations for the county, including ballot processing, tabulation, and election administration. That July vote followed a subpoena issued by the state board to Fulton County on election night in 2024. The Georgia State Election Board has stated that its actions were driven by concerns about record retention and election administration practices, not by the outcome of the 2024 election. The Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center itself became operational in 2023 and was intended to consolidate election functions that had previously been spread across multiple locations.
