Fast fashion chain Quiz is on the brink of collapse as it struggles under the weight of a barrage of taxes and other costs. It also axed 11 stores in 2020, blaming government measures forcing non-essential retailers to close their doors during lockdown. The high street is grappling with sharp increases in national insurance and the minimum wage, as well as rising energy costs. Russell & Bromley is also on the verge of largely disappearing from the high street as part of a deal with Next that will see 32 of its 35 shops close for good. Meanwhile, LK Bennett is also set to close its stores for good after it was snapped up by turnaround firm Gordon Brothers.
