The National Weather Service released an extreme cold warning at 12:32 p.m. on Thursday valid from 7 p.m. until Friday 11 a.m. for Berkshire County. The weather service says, “Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 to 29 degrees below expected.”“The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 to 29 degrees below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes,” comments the weather service. “Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside.”Understanding cold weather alertsExtreme cold warning: Take Action!
