An increase in ICE detentions at state courthouses has raised concerns across Massachusetts, with approximately 20% of the arrests occurring in Boston-area courts.
In 2025, there were at least 614 detentions at state courthouses statewide, according to Massachusetts Trial Court data cited by GBH News.
In response to the courthouse arrests, the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus (MBLLC) introduced the PROTECT Act on Wednesday.
