Starting this February, people in the Boston area may not have to travel all the way to Vatican City to see Renaissance artist Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes up close and personal thanks to a new art exhibition.
Set to open Thursday, Feb. 12 at the CambridgeSide mall, “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition” will showcase all 34 of the artist’s ceiling and altar masterpieces “faithfully” recreated, the art exhibition announced Jan. 29.
The exhibition is set to run for “a limited time” until Sunday, May 10.
Guests can find the exhibition on the second floor of CambridgeSide above the shopping center’s food hall.
Tickets for the exhibition start at $28 for general admission, with discounts for seniors, students, children and military members.
