The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport unveiled its SEA Gateway Project on Wednesday, a $546 million upgrade to the north end of its main terminal, a construction project that has been two years in the works. The result is a “a lighter, brighter, more efficient and modern customer experience,” the Port of Seattle said. The project, which was a partnership with Alaska Airlines, also includes automated bag drops, new baggage claim devices, a redesigned security checkpoint and new entry and exit doors. Port of SeattleA glass art installation is part of the renovation project. That project is expected to open later this spring, ahead of the World Cup, which will come to Seattle on June 15.
